Student Awards
There are 3 student awards at the 2022 Ontario Exercise Physiology Conference for which you can apply. Finalists will be selected in advance of the conference and the winner will receive a certificate and prize.

Available Student Awards
There are 3 student awards for which you can apply. Students may only apply to one award.
1. The 2022 OEP Student Award ($500 Prize) - awarded to the most outstanding student project across all areas of exercise physiology.
2. The CSEP-APNM National Student Award ($500 Prize + CSEP Student Registration) - awarded to a CSEP Student Member to recognize outstanding research in exercise physiology.
3. The AJP-Cell Student Award ($100 Prize)- awarded to an outstanding project in the field of cell and molecular physiology. Must use cell/molecular approaches to understand mechanisms of physiological control/responses. This can include interdisciplinary studies using approaches from biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, morphology, and immunology.
Presentation Requirement
If your abstract is selected as a finalist, you will be notified in advance and asked to give a 15-minute presentation followed by 5 minutes of questions. The OEP Student Award session will be Wednesday evening and the CSEP-APNM and AJP-Cell award sessions will be on Thursday.

Awards will be presented at the evening social on Thursday night.

OEP Student Award
Interested students can apply by filling out the Student Award Application section of the abstract submission form. CSEP-APNM National Student Award

AJP-Cell Student Award
Interested students can apply by filling out the Student Award Application section of the abstract submission form. As there is only 1 fillable text box, this section should be clearly divided into the following sections.

- The perceived originality, novelty, completeness and quality of work
- The level of study of the student and the written description of the rationale and significance
- The quality of the presentation and the ability to answer questions

- Name of award to which you are applying
- Rationale for your research and description of the study in more detail than provided in the abstract (maximum 300 words)
- Implications of your research (maximum 200 words)
CSEP-APNM National Student Award
Interested students can apply by filling out the Student Award Application section of the abstract submission form. As there is only 1 fillable text box, this section should be clearly divided into the following sections. It is recommended that you complete this in a word document and copy and paste into the text box on the abstract submission form.
- Name of award to which you are applying
- A two-page (~600 word) outline by the student that describes their project in more detail. The outline should explain the rationale for the work, purpose and /or hypothesis, research design, results, discussion that highlights the significance of the work and key references. Up to two figures may be included within the two-page limit.
- A letter outlining how receiving this award will contribute to your academic and career goals. To be sent to [email protected].
- A one-page (~300 word) letter from the student's supervisor that explains the role and contribution(s) of the applicant to the research project. All submissions must be sponsored by a CSEP Academic Member. To be sent to [email protected].

AJP-Cell Student Award
Interested students can apply by filling out the Student Award Application section of the abstract submission form. As there is only 1 fillable text box, this section should be clearly divided into the following sections.
- Name of award to which you are applying
- Description of the work distribution for the research (similar to that which would be at the end of a manuscript)
